I’m really excited to begin pursuing a Masters of Educational Technology Degree from Boise State University (Go Broncos!). I am a Librarian at Messiah College Murray Library. I work with the sciences departments and I love teaching students how to effectively search for, access, analyze and use information resources for their studies. I am very interested in the intersection of libraries and technology. Currently I am working on several projects in this area such as collaborating with ITS to create a resource page for our ipad pilot projects, and exploring use of library resources through mobile technology.
I hope that a degree in Educational Technology will help me to assist the college library in its collaboration with ITS to integrate technology across the curriculum. I hope to gain experience with various tools that I can share with faculty on campus. More importantly, I hope to gain a solid foundation in the field of educational technology that will allow me to adapt to new technologies as time and tools progress.
This blog will provide reflections about the artifacts and projects that I work on throughout my program. My new TechieLibrarian blog will provide general reflections about the intersections between technology and libraries. Because I monitor over 100 blogs in my efforts to stay current in library, technology, and science disciplines, I welcome this new project and the chance for me to contribute blog entries related to my MET studies, and to library and technology in general, in addition to simply monitoring them!
